Internal Family Systems – IFS

is one of the most interesting and fastest-growing forms of therapy. It is effective and in-depth, but at the same time gentle, and can be used in the psychodynamic, cognitive or systemic fields.

Therapists that work with this method:

Peter Hagerrot
David Schultz
Mahnaz Taheri
Bo Wikström

Ego states can be likened to sub-personalities

that exist naturally in everyone. Because this approach differs from our conventional western thinking, it is easier to explain with an example.

Think of the last time you had to make a difficult decision.
Part of you probably felt a certain way about the decision, while another part of you had an entirely different view.

Or think about how childish you can be when you argue with somebody you love. It’s at times like this that the child or teenager in you probably takes control.

Techniques

  • Internal Family Systems
  • Conference Room (mapping of the inner self)

The above are just two of the techniques that can be used.

These methods

help people who feel confused, depressed, stressed or who feel that they have lost control of their lives to make contact with different thoughts and feelings. In this process, you can achieve a deeper contact with your inner self and your true potential.
Internal personalities that pull in different directions learn to listen and understand each other better and become part of your inner self.

You get to know yourself
in ways that you can only imagine. You also feel energised from living more harmoniously with your inner self and with others.

“What
You
seek is
seeking
You.”
RUMI

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else
is the greatest accomplishment.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

“When I was
young, I
admired
clever people.
Now that I am
old, I admire
kind people.”
Abraham Joshua Heschel

“I feverishly searched for God
everywhere, burt I could not find Him anywhere.
The moment I relaxed and reposed in my Self,
God came after me calling:
´Kabir! Kabir!´”
Kabir

“The process of getting totally entangled in illusion and
then finding a way out is perhaps the ultimate adventure”.
Jane Butterfield English

“Out of the quarrel with others we make rhetoric,
out of the quarrel with ourselves we make poetry.”
W.B. Yeats

“Make your ego porous. Will is of little importance, complaining is nothing, fame is
nothing. Openness, patience, receptivity, solitude is everything.”
Rainer Maria Rilke
